Why is there a Wild Berry Patch?
I, Christi, needed a place to share my thoughts, my journey from the muck and mire of abuse and depression into the Kingdom of God's dear son, Jesus.
As the Lord led me to paint and write, various versions of this idea came to be. Then, others, serving Christ, but having a dark journey through the valley of the shadow of death, needed a place to share.
Next, I wanted to have a place where I could share my journey, and not feel ashamed, or fearful of judgement, and wanted to invite others to join me in this journey.
Eventually, I hope this is a safe place for all the wild berries to settle in, and share their fruit to the glory of God.
What is Wild Berry Patch?
The name is based on John 15:1-8
John 15:1 "I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.
John 15:2
"Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away;* and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.
John 15:3
"You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.
Jhn 15:4
"Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.
Jhn 15:5
"I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
Jhn 15:6
"If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.
Jhn 15:7
"If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will* ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.
Jhn 15:8
"By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.
And Romans 11, specifically verses
Rom 11:17
And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root and fatness of the olive tree,
Rom 11:18
do not boast against the branches. But if you do boast, remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you.
Rom 11:24
For if you were cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and were grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, who are natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?
What is the purpose for Wild Berry Patch?
To provide a place and opportunities for the Wild Berries to encourage one another to grow into the cultivated Vine, and produce Eternal Fruit.
This includes a place to share art, writings, and a group to discuss aspects of growing.
How can I participate in The Wild Berry Patch?
- Contact Christi with your testimony
- include a sample of your art or writing
- Counselors can share this with their clients, pastors with their flock
- The only requirement is that work be God glorifying, Bible acceptable, and Jesus Focused.
- More specifically - NOT anti God, Jesus or the Holy Spirit, and not anti Bible.
